Parish News:

Altar Flowers:  The flowers on the Altar this weekend were donated by Don & Mary Birch in celebration of their wedding anniversay.

Altar server appreciation day:: The Knights of Columbus will be having their annual Altar Server Appreciation Day this year at Laser Quest in Knoxville on Sunday May 19, following the 11:30 am Mass (about 12:45), returning at 5:00 pm. Drivers are needed, so any parents interested in attending with their children are welcome!Permission slips are available at the Church office. Any server who has served a Mass this past year is invited to attend at no cost. The trip will include two 20 minute sessions,with pizza and soft drinks. .

New Email Contacts: Please check the contacts list on the back of the bulletin and update your email address book with our new email address.  Our Charter addresses will no longer be valid shortly.

Sacristans needed: Sacristans are needed to help prepare the Church for week-end Masses. Come with a friend, as a couple or as a family. Make it a fun event. The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board in the Narthex.

Mother's Day Envelopes: Mother's Day envelopes are available on the table in the Narthex and will be kept on the Altar throughout the month of May. Please pray for our mothers... both living and deceased.

Youth Ministry

ANNUAL YOUTH YARD SALE!: The Spring Youth Yard sale will be on Saturday, June 1st. This sale will benefit the high school youth and help defray the cost for those youth attending the National Catholic Youth Council (NCYC) in September. Items may be dropped off during normal office hours. All youth wanting to earn credits working the yard sale should contact Deacon Jim to arrange for setup times.:  


VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: This year, Vacation Bible School will be held June 10th -14th from 9:00am to 12:00 noon in the Parish Center. Adult volunteers and high school youth volunteers are needed. Please contact Deacon Jim if you are able to help. You do not have to commit to all 5 days. Any help day-by-day is needed. Knights of Columbus


Medic Blood Drive:Come and Give it - - Donate Blood! The Knights of Columbus Blood Drive (Medic Mobile) will be in the front parking lot of St. Patrick Church on Wednesday, June 12th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.


LIVING THE YEAR OF FAITH::  Who:Open to all youth, ages 13-18; Scouts, non-Scouts, Catholics, and non-Catholics. Scouter Development Training will be offered for adults. What: A Catholic Scouting retreat with fun, fellowship, games and prayers. Mass will be celebrated Friday evening and Sunday morning. Adoration and the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available throughout the retreat. May qualify as a Confirmation retreat, check with your Confirmation group leader. When: Check-in Friday, June 7 from 7:30-8:00pm – Check-out Sunday, June 9 at 1:00pm. Where: Christ Prince of Peace Retreat Center, 300 Locke Lane, Benton, TN 37307 Cost: $40.00 per person. EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS WITH FAMILY WEEKEND:  Come and celebrate with Bishop Richard Stika our Eucharistic faith in Christ Jesus as a parish and diocesan family beginning the evening of September 13th and all day on September 14th at the Sevierville Convention Center. Joining us for the region’s very first Eucharistic Congress is an “all-star cast” of the top Catholic speakers in a line-up called “near miraculous,” including Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Cardinal Justin Rigali, Dr. Scott Hahn, and Fr. Robert Barron. Youth sessions include Dr. Hahn, ValLimar Jansen, Paul George and the musical talents of Josh Blakesley and Sarah Kroger. Our Hispanic speakers include Fr. Rafael Capo, Sr. Rosa M. Hernandez, MGSpS, along with the musical talent and missionary spirit of Johann Alverez. Tickets are $20 for Adults, $15 per Child/Youth (ages 6-17). Charismatic Mass:  Fr. Dan Whitman, Pastor of Holy Trinity Church, would like to extend an invitation to join him in a joyful, spirit-guided celebration of the Mass on Pentecost Sunday May,19, 2013 at 2:00 pm.  Following the Mass, there will be prayers for healing.

Manning on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. St. John Vianney says of the priesthood, “The priest continues the work of redemption on earth. The Priesthood is the love of the heart of Jesus.” Deacon Christopher has spent many years of formation preparing for this moment. Please join us in welcoming him to the Presbyterate of the Diocese of Knoxville.
