PENTECOST, the fast of the fifty days was one of the three Jewish festivals listed in Ex.23:14-17. It was an agricultural feast celebrated in thanksgiving to the Lord for the land. It was also known as the feast of the weeks during which the first fruits of the land were presented to the Lord. In Ex.20 Pentecost became the commemoration of giving of the law at Sinai....

"Red" For Pentacost Sunday, May 19: A limited number of booklets are available on the table in the Narthex to help us know the Holy Spirit before Pentecost Sunday. And don't forget to wear RED for Pentecost.

	FIRST COMMUNION – PRAYER PARTNERS: We still have two children in need of a Prayer Partner. Please consider becoming involved in the spiritual growth of the children at St. Patrick who are preparing for their First Communion. You will be asked to do a few things. 1. Pray for your assigned candidate. 2. Twice a month (February, March and April) send a card or a note to your candidate. 3. At the 9:00am Mass on a Sunday in April, each Prayer Partner will present a loaf of bread with a card and their name attached to the candidate. Please let Allison McKenna know if you are interested.
